Dian gets elected to World Box­ing Body

Dian Gomes, the in­cum­bent Pres­i­dent of the Am­a­teur Box­ing As­so­ci­a­tion of SriLanka (ABA), has been ap­pointed as an Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee mem­ber of the world box­ing body,aiba. Gomes is no stranger to the box­ing arena in Sri Lanka as his name is syn­ony­mous with the re­nais­sance of the sport in Sri Lanka, and was re­cently elected as the head of the ABA for the third time. A for­mer Royal Col­lege fly-weight box­ing cham­pion and a for­mer pres­i­dent of CIMA Sri Lanka Di­vi­sion, Gomes has been a lead­ing cor­po­rate per­son­al­ity for the bet­ter part of three decades.
